Karl joined Tansley Electrical in 1991. For him, the Tansley team are like a large family, as many of the staff have been with the company for decades. Karl emphasises the company's focus on quality workmanship and completing projects to a high standard, which shows in the calibre of Tansley’s completed projects.
For Karl, Tansley Electrical offers staff security and job satisfaction in all that they do, which is a winning formula for retaining staff. Another key aspect of the business is mentoring apprentices to succeed, and contributing to the development of the next generation of tradespeople, with many of the young staff they train being offered permanent positions at the end of their training and choosing to stay on with Tansley's because of the great company culture.

Outside of work, Karl is on the Board of Trustees for Otago Hockey, enjoys fishing, playing golf and hockey and cycling for recreation.
